RCN Foundation Impact Awards 2016

The RCN Foundation Impact Awards 2016 took place at RCN Congress on 18 June 2016. The Awards celebrate the achievements the impact and achievements the Foundation has had on nursing. 
The awards were presented by RCN Foundation Chair, Robert Sowney.

Impact Awards Winners for Achievement in enhancing nursing practice 

Jess Davidson- Jess was funded to present at the International Custody and Care conference, to share information about her work as a Senior Clinical Charge Nurse to a global audience

Catherine Jones- Catherine was an RCN Foundation Margaret Parkinson bursary recipient and was funded to study nursing at Birmingham City University. Catherine was awarded a first for her dissertation which she completed in 2015. 

Naomi Farrington- Naomi is an Emergency Nurse practitioner & Clinical  Academic Fellow at the University of Southampton. Naomi was funded to attend to present her work on Palliative Care, at the 10th Palliative Care Congress and to complete a applied qualitative research methods course. 

Rianne O'Gara- Rianne was funded through the RCN Foundation Worshipful Company of Needlemakers scheme to complete a Diploma in Tropical Nursing. Completing the course has meant that she is better able to support her diverse patient group in Scotland. 

Morag McEwan Bell Memorial Award for Outstanding Service in Palliative Care Nursing within Scotland

Dee Cameron The inaugural Morag McEwan Bell Memorial Award was presented to Dee Cameron who is a Team Leader for the community Macmillian and Hospital Pallative Care Teams Cornhill Macmillian Centre Perth Royal Infirmary.

  

Impact award winner for achievement with a project grant 

Public Lecture Series- The RCN Libraries and Heritage team were presented an Impact award for achievements with the Public Lecture Series 




Impact Award for Fundraising 

Team RCN were awarded an Impact award in recognition of their achievements on completing the Mount Cavell Challenge, together they raised over £10,000 to support nurses.
